The first step in your child's learning journey begins with an introductory phone call. This call is typically `15-30 minutes in duration. During this time, we will discuss your specific needs, concerns, and goals for your child. We will explain our instructional approach and curriculum, and answer any questions you may have. The next step is scheduling an initial assessment so we can recommend a program that best fits your child's needs.
The initial assessment meeting typically lasts 30-45 minutes. Depending on your child's age and specific needs, one or more assessments will be administered to help discover strengths and areas for improvement. We will then schedule a time to review the assessment results.
You will receive a detailed summary report within 1 week of screening. The report will list the assessments that were administered, as well as strengths and areas of growth. After reviewing your child's assessment results, we will discuss which of our coaching plans would best benefit your child. In some cases, we may need to review school records (report cards, IEP's, etc.) to help us make an informed decision. Should you decide to move forward, we will discuss tuition rates, payment methods, and cancellation policies. We will also review our contract and answer any questions you may have.
Congratulations! You have taken the first step to support your child's education! We are thrilled to be part of your child's reading journey. Together, we'll make learning fun and rewarding. We will discuss scheduling your child's first session and beyond!

"As a long-time public educator with a passion for teaching reading, I have been challenged with "fitting it all in" and reaching every child in my classroom. While I have many systems in place, the truth is with growing class sizes and less instructional support, it is difficult to reach every child every day. I am also experiencing this as a parent. My son was diagnosed with autism at age 2, and reading comprehension and writing are his biggest struggles. This is why I founded Reading Roots Academy...to give YOUR child the very best literacy instruction in a 1:1 setting, and to tailor instruction to EXACTLY what your child needs."
